Initiation
What is Diksha?
Diksha is the sacred ceremony in which the guru whispers the mantra into the disciple's ear — a transmission of divine knowledge and energy that creates a bond between teacher and disciple on the level of the soul. The foundational commitment of a disciple is exclusive devotion to their Guru and Bhagwaan.
The first initiation is Harinaam Diksha, with no additional rules except a commitment to chant the Holy Name as much as possible. This is the entry into the spiritual path — comparable to nursery education. In time, practitioners may advance to a second initiation involving home altar worship of Radha and Krishn.
